Nick and I met through mutual friends our freshman year at Purdue. (Somehow despite our common activities and friends in FFA, we never met in high school.) As freshman, we couldn’t keep a vehicle on campus but he had found a way around that (nick’s note: only 2 parking tickets in 9 months of illegal parking!) and served as our ride to Wal-Mart when needed. We didn’t have an interest in each other at the time, but became friends and talked quite a bit online, giving each other relationship advice.

This went on for awhile and progressed into weekend movie nights every week. This, too, went on for awhile and in April of our sophomore year we were “official.” We fell in love and started dreaming about “someday.” Two days before Christmas of 2006, Nick gave me a promise ring.

An engagement ring came eighteen months later, on June 21, 2008. Plans are currently being made and given that Nick is involved, everything that can be, will be digital and we’ll keep everybody posted on things through the site.

For those who have been out of touch with us recently, currently, Kelly just finished her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and is taking some well deserved time off before starting at the Seymour Animal Hospital in July. Nick is a Software Engineer for Stoneware Inc.
